Head-On Crash At Seaham Leaves Two Men In Hospital

Investigations are continuing into a head-on crash at Seaham which has left two men in hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called to New Line Road about one kilometre south of East Seaham Road just before 4.00pm on Thursday where two utilities had collided.

A 57-year-old man driving one of the cars was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital with critical abdominal injuries.

The other driver, a 60-year-old man, was taken by road ambulance to the John Hunter with soft tissue injuries and bruising.

Crash investigators and specialist units from Sydney examined the scene for several hours, with New Line Road re-opened to traffic at about 10.00pm.

BREAKING! Crews Battling House Fires At Greta and Seaham

Fire has engulfed a home at Greta this morning.

Fire crews from Branxton and Rutherford were called to the single level weatherboard cottage on Hunter Street just after 4.30am on Thursday to find the house fully involved in flames.

Two occupants managed to self-evacuate without incident.

Meanwhile, fire has destroyed a garage at Seaham overnight.

Six RFS crews and Morpeth Fire and Rescue were called to a property on Clarence Town at about 1.45am on Thursday.

Newcastle Fire Command says a boat inside the garage has been destroyed and no-one's been injured.

Head-on collision on Clarence Town Road

Port Stephens SES have responded to a head-on collision on Clarence Town Road at Seaham on Wednesday afternoon.

A team provided scene safety, vehicle stabilization, and patient support until ambulances arrived.

After the patients were extricated from the vehicles, SES members relocated one of the vehicles using the vehicle mounted winch, in order to clear the road.

We're being reminded to to take it easy and drive safely on wet roads.

BREAKING! 6-Year-Old Boy Killed in Seaham Crash

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation unit is looking into the circumstances leading up to a crash at East Seaham which claimed the life of a 6-year-old boy.

A 29-year-old woman was driving a Mazda 3 on New Line Road just before 6pm on Sunday when she lost control and hit a power pole.

It's understood the boy, who was a rear seat passenger, died at the scene.

Police say a 3-year-old girl in the front passenger seat and the driver suffered facial lacerations and were taken to the John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

The woman has undergone mandatory blood and urine tests while at hospital.

Young Man Dies in Seaham Crash

A teenager has tragically died after a single-vehicle collision at East Seaham early this morning.

Emergency services were called out to East Seaham Road just after 4:30am, where it appears the 19-year-old's Subaru Liberty had veered off the road and crashed into a power pole sometime earlier.

The young man was en route to the John Hunter Hospital when he succumbed to critical injuries.

Port Stephens Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward as crash investigations are launched.
