Police Seek Public Help Over Fatal Stabbing At Broadmeadow

Police are appealing for dashcam footage as they investigate a fatal stabbing at Broadmeadow at the weekend.

A 56-year-old man went to a home on Broadmeadow Road at about 8.20pm on Sunday where a female resident noticed he'd been stabbed in the stomach.

The woman and a neighbour rendered first aid before he was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Police say the man died in hospital early Tuesday morning.

They're asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the vicinity of the Nineways at Broadmeadow between 7.00pm and 8.30pm on Sunday to contact Crime Stoppers.

Driver Critical After Crash At Broadmeadow

A man is fighting for life in hospital after a horrific early-morning crash at Broadmeadow.

He lost control of his blue Subaru sedan on Lambton Road and slammed into a pole outside Nineways Wholesale Cars just before 3.00am on Monday.

The 30-year-old  man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was trapped for a short time before being freed and taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have set up a crime scene as investigations continue but say the car wasn't involved in a pursuit.
