UPDATE! Appeal Launched To Find Missing Lake Macquarie Woman

 Police have advised the body of a 29-year-old woman reported missing from Swansea has been found.

They've thanked the public and media for their assistance.

EARLER: 

There are concerns for the welfare of a woman who's gone missing overnight in the Lake Macquarie area as she lives with a number of health conditions.

29-year-old Nic Hodgson was last seen in Swansea around 3.30pm on Sunday 26 October, 2025.

She's described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall with a medium build, red/auburn shoulder-length hair which may be tied in a bun and has sleeve tattoos on both arms and her right leg.

Nic was last seen wearing a green shirt, black cargo shorts and black boots.

She is known to frequent the Swansea and Morisset areas.

UPDATE! Appeal Launched To Find Missing Woman From Merriwa

Police have found a body believed to be that of a woman reported missing from Merriwa at the weekend

25-year-old Celeste Proctor was last seen around 1.00pm on Saturday.

When she couldn't be located or contacted, Hunter Valley Police were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Around 3.30pm on Monday, police located the body of a woman during a search of bushland in Coolah Tops National Park.

While yet to be formally identified, the body is believed to be that of the missing woman.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.  

EARLIER: 

Police are asking for our help to locate a woman who's gone missing from Merriwa at the weekend.

25-year-old Celeste Proctor was last seen in the area around 1.00pm on Saturday.

She's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall with a small build, medium-length light brown hair and blue eyes.

Celeste may be travelling in a black Toyota Hilux with the NSW registration  DB 89 JT.

She's known to frequent the Coolah Tops and Merriwa areas.

Concerns Held For Woman Missing From Singleton

Hunter Valley police have issued a public appeal for help to find a woman who's gone missing from Singleton.

39-year-old Cassandra Mallard was last seen in the vicinity of Kennedy Street at about 12.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 5 August, 2025).

When she couldn't be located or contacted, local police were notified and a search commenced.

Cassandra is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 165cm tall with a medium build, fair complexion and brown hair.

She is known to frequent the Singleton area and a geotext message has been circulated in the community.

Police Search Bushland At Birmingham Gardens For Missing Woman

Detectives have taken over the investigation into the disappearance of a Newcastle woman three weeks ago.

68-year-old Meilee Chen was last seen at Birmingham Gardens on Thursday April 24 and there are concerns for her welfare as she lives with medical conditions which require medication.

A search of bushland around Birmingham Gardens on Wednesday afternoon by Newcastle Police and SES volunteers failed to find any trace of her.

Meilee is described as being of Asian appearance, about 150cm tall with a thin build and black hair.

Anyone with information on Mailee's whereabouts is urged to contact Newcastle Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00.

Police have advised that Catherine has been found safe and well.

They've thanked the  public and the media for their assistance.

EARLIER:

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a woman who's gone missing from the Maitland area.

48-year-old Catherine Copeland was last seen at Rutherford at 3.00pm on Monday 7 October, 2024, and police were notified when she couldn't be located or contacted.

Police and family hold serious concerns for her welfare.

Catherine's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with a solid build and shoulder length red hair.

She's known to frequent the Rutherford, Nundle Hanging Rock and Tamworth areas.

UPDATE! Concerns For Woman Missing From Stroud

Good News!

After a public appeal for information, Vicki was found safe and well at Booral at about 10.20am on Wednesday.

 Police have thanked the public and the media for their assistance.

 EARLIER:

Police are asking for help from the public to find a woman missing from Stroud.

62-year-old Vicki Davey was last seen leaving a business on Memorial Avenue at about 2.00pm on Tuesday and the alarm was raised when she could not be located or contacted.

Vicki's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm tall with a thin build and short blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a light blue and white dress, grey cardigan and thongs.

Vicki is known to frequent the New Lambton area and may be hitchhiking.

UPDATE! Fears Held For Woman Missing In The Olney State Forest

A woman missing in the Olney State Forest west of Morisset has been located safe and well.

The 48-year-old Melissa Reeves had been camping by herself for the past month.

Police were told that on Saturday 20 January 2024, she drove her vehicle from her campsite to get water, but her vehicle became bogged.

About 6.30am on Monday, she told a family member she was going walking in the forest to collect water. When the family member went to drop off food to her campsite around midday that day, she was not there.

Following inquiries and a geo targeted text message, Melissa was located safe and well at a makeshift campsite in the Olney State Forest about 4.45pm on Tuesday.

Police have thanked the public and media for their assistance.

EARLIER:

A search is resuming on Tuesday morning for a woman reported missing in the Olney State Forest, west of Morisset.

48-year-old Melissa Reeves has been camping by herself for the past month and police say she's an experienced camper and has a good knowledge of the area.

Police have been told Melissa's white Toyota Hilux became bogged on Saturday while driving from her campsite to get water.

She told a family member early Monday she was going walking in the forest to collect water, but there was no sign of her when a family member went to drop off food at her campsite around midday.

Melissa's described as being of Caucasian appearance with a tanned complexion, about 165cm tall with a medium build and brown eyes.

Her Toyota Hilux 2WD has the NSW registration DF 24 KZ.

A coordinated land search is expected to start at 8.30am on Tuesday involving local police and the SES.

Police also plan to issue a geotargeting alert to the surrounding community.

Anyone who knows Melissa's whereabouts is urged to contact Tuggerah Lakes Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

58-Year-Old Woman Missing From Maitland

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a woman missing from Maitland.

58-year-old Taylor is missing from her home in Ashtonfield and police hold serious concerns for her welfare.

She is described as being of East Asian appearance, 165cm tall, around 75kg in weight, of a medium build, and has black hair.

21-Year-Old Woman Missing From Dora Creek

Lake Macquarie Police are asking locals to be on the lookout for 21-year-old Courtney Ravesi. 

Courtney was last seen on Sunday the 24th of September, 2023 at Dora Creek. 
 
She is described as Caucasian in appearance, 145cm tall, of a medium build, with dark hair, and blue eyes.

Police say it's likely she's with her vehicle, a black Ford Falcon with registration AR8-0DZ. 
 
Anyone who sees Courtney or her vehicle is urged to contact police.

UPDATE! Missing Woman Last Seen In Nulkaba

After making enquiries, Police say Sharny was found safe and well at Byron Bay.

Police have thanks the public and the media for their assistance.

EARLIER:

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman reported missing from the Cessnock area.

43-year-old Sharny Cavanagh was last seen at a home on Occident Street at Nulkaba at about 6:30pm on Sunday the 20th of August, 2023. 

Her family says her disappearance is out of character.

Sharny is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall, of a medium build, with blonde hair, and brown eyes.

She was last seen driving a silver 2019 Honda HRV station wagon with the NSW registration EBK-88P.

Sharny is known to frequent the Nulkaba, Beresfield and Cessnock areas

Appeal to Locate Woman Missing From Newcastle Since 1975

As part of Missing Persons Week, police are looking into the disappearance of a woman from Newcastle more than 48 years ago. 

Rhyanwen Horne nee McConnochie was last seen at the former Shortland Clinic on the corner of Ordnance and Watt Street at about 8:15pm on Saturday the 1st of February, 1975. 

She was 24-years-old at the time, and would now be 73. 

At the time of her disappearance, Rhyanwen is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a fair complexion, slight build, very long brown hair, and grey-green eyes. 

Police and her family are asking anyone with any information which may assist investigators to come forward. 

They say no piece of evidence is too small or insignificant.

UPDATE! Woman Missing At Port Stephens Found Alive

 A woman missing overnight at Port Stephens has been found alive after an intensive search by authorities.

57-year-old Madeline Woods could not be contacted after making a phone call to family at about 6.30pm on Wednesday while going for a beach walk at Fingal  Bay.

Just before 11.00am on Thursday police located Madeline at Boulder Bay - police say she appears to have suffered possible broken bones and lacerations after tumbling down an embankment.

The Toll helicopter is on the way from Sydney to winch her to safety.

EARLIER:

Port Stephens Police are appealing for help to find a woman who's gone missing from Shoal Bay overnight.

57-year-old Madeline Woods told her family she was walking in the Fingal Bay area at about 6.00pm on Wednesday.

Police say they know she was near a beach in the area at about 6.30pm but has since been un-contactable.

Madeline is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, with a thin build, fair complexion, blonde hair and brown eyes.

Police hold serious concerns for her welfare due as she was not warmly dressed for a night out in the cold.

Newcastle Police are asking for help to locate a missing person. 

57-year-old Perelle McIntosh was last seen at her home on Darby Street in Cooks Hill on the 3rd of July. 

She is known to frequent the Nobbys Beach area. 

Perelle is described as being of Caucasian in appearance, 160cm tall, with a medium build, brown eyes and blonde hair.

UPDATE! Missing Southern Highlands Woman Located Near Lake Macquarie

A woman reported missing from the Southern Highlands has been located near Lake Macquarie.

38-year-old Teegan Wales was last seen at about 11:30am on Monday morning. 

Following enquiries she was located in Cooranbong just after 8:30am today.

EARLIER:

A woman missing from the Southern Highlands is believed to be in the Lake Macquarie area.

38-year-old Teegan Wales was last seen on Monday morning.

Police and her family hold serious concerns for her welfare.

She's described as being Caucasian, about 175 centimetres tall with brown hair and eyes and has a tattoo of a rose on her right shoulder.

Teegan was last seen wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and black jeans.

62-Year-Old Woman Missing From Lake Macquarie

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from the Hunter.

62-year-old Lynn Scaife last spoke to relatives on Monday the 6th of March and she was reported missing yesterday.

Lynn is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of medium build, with shoulder-length red hair clipped up.

She is believed to be travelling in a white Subaru station wagon with NSW number plates.

She is known the frequent the Dora Creek, Wyee, and Wyong areas.

Family and police hold serious concerns for her welfare.
