Update! Car Into House at Kilaben Bay

Police are searching for the driver of a car which slammed into a house at Kilaben Bay.

Police and fire crews were called to Kilaben Bay Road just after 4.15am on Wednesday to find a white Land Rover Evoke had crashed into the front bedroom.

Lake Macquarie Police say the vehicle is registered to a company in Sydney.

Police say none of the residents were hurt - they woke and raced outside to see a man running away from the scene.

The crash caused significant damage to the front of the house, while two cars belonging to the residents were damaged by falling debris.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is urged to contact Belmont Police or Crime Stoppers.

EARLIER:

Emergency services have been called to Kilaben Bay where a car has slammed into a house.

Newcastle Fire Command says they were called to Kilaben Road just after 4.15 this morning.

It's understood the driver and the occupants of the house have escaped injury.

Fire crews from Toronto and the Technical Rescue Team from Lambton are working to carefully winch the car free before using Acrow Props to shore up the damaged home.

BREAKING! One House Destroyed And Two Others Damaged In Major Fire Emergency At Kilaben Bay

One house has been destroyed and two others have been damaged by fire at Kilaben Bay.

Firefighters were called to a double storey home in Ridge Road at about 6.00pm on Tuesday, arriving to find the house engulfed in flames.

The intense fire spread to the adjoining homes either side of the property, prompting a major response from emergency services

12 fire trucks were sent to the incident, with the first home collapsing as the fire spread.

It's taken crews almost 5 hours to extinguish and mop up the fires.

No-one was injured.

One home was destroyed, a second sustained 50 percent fire damage and the 3rd suffered minor damage.

The cause of the initial fire is not known at this stage.

Investigation Launched Into Kilaben Bay House Fire

The Fire Investigation Unit is looking into the cause of a fire which destroyed a garage and a car at Kilaben Bay.

Fire crews from Toronto, Teralba and Wangi Wangi responded to several triple zero calls to reports of a house fire on Lake View Road at 2.15am on Tuesday.

They arrived to find a brick and tile garage attached to the the home well alight.

Crews managed to stop the fire from spreading to the home, however the garage along with a car inside were destroyed.

A boat was also badly damaged in the blaze.

The residents were home at the time but no-one injured.
