BREAKING! Pair Front Court Over Alleged Drive-By Shooting At Gateshead

Police have made a breakthrough in their investigation into a drive-by shooting at Gateshead last month.

A 41-year-old man was asleep with his family in their Flame Street home just after 4.00am on Thursday May 18 when they were woken by two loud noises.

He was injured after a projectile entered the front window.

Following inquiries, police raided a home on the Pacific Highway at Doyalson North yesterday and seized a Mitsubishi Magna, clothing and electronic devices.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene and a 45-year-old woman was arrested later the same day.

The woman faced Toronto Local Court yesterday and the man is due to face Wyong Court today (Tuesday 20 June, 2023).

Man In Serious Condition After Stabbing At Nelson Bay

Police are appealing for witnesses to a stabbing incident at Nelson Bay.

Officers were called to reports of a brawl on Donald Street at about 1.30am on Sunday.

They attended a home on Shoal Bay Road a short time later and found a 41-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his back.

He was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition, suffering collapsed lungs, bruising and cuts to his head.

A number of items have been collected from Donald Street and police have seized a vehicle for examination.

Anyone who witnessed the brawl, or who has dashcam footage is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
