Passenger freed from van after Buchanan crash

BY DAKOTA TAIT

Emergency services have freed a person after a van crashed on Buchanan Road at Buchanan on Monday morning.

Rescue crews were called to the scene just before 7:30am, finding three people were already out of the vehicle, while a person in the front passenger seat was still trapped by confinement.

Hydraulic cutters were used to remove the door and the B-pillar, to allow a spine board to be inserted and remove the passenger.

All four people were taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

Police Investigate Fatal Crash At Buchanan

 BY IAN CROUCH

A man has died in a single car crash at Buchanan.

Police say just before 8.30am on Tuesday, a car left George Booth Drive and collided with a tree.

The male driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

George Booth Drive is closed in both directions between John Renshaw Dive and Richmond Vale Road with diversions in place.

It's the second fatality on the region's roads in less than 24 hours after a 64-year-old woman died in a two car crash at Tea Gardens yesterday morning.
