Six Charged Over Alleged Newcastle Pub Brawl

Six people have been charged after a brawl broke-out at a pub in Newcastle last month.

It's alleged, a 36-year-old man threw glass at a wall and grabbed a female staff member after being asked to leave the premises.

A fight broke out, and shortly after, the man and three others left the venue. 

They returned two hours later and allegedly assaulted a number of patrons in the carpark of the premises, including a 33-year-old man who was knocked unconscious and taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

Following inquiries, Raptor North Squad officers executed four search warrants at properties in Cardiff, Edgeworth, Gillieston Heights, and Newcastle West from 5:00am yesterday, where they seized five firearms, cannabis, and MDMA.

Four men and two women were arrested.

It's believed all four men are senior members or associates of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang. 

 

Court Orders Against Hunter Bike Gang Members Expire This Weekend

Police from Strike Force Raptor are hoping there won't be a fresh outbreak of bikie gang violence in the Hunter, with Serious Crime Prevention Orders against several gang members expiring this weekend.

More than 20 gang members are set to defend charges of either directing or participating in a criminal group in August.

Over an 18 month period, there were a series of drive-by shootings, firebombings and brawls involving rival bikie gang members.

Police took the unprecedented step of applying for Supreme Court orders in a bid to stop the violence.

They prevent gang members from associating, wearing club insignia, travelling at night and using encrypted messaging services as part of a suite of strict conditions.

The brief of evidence against the accused gang members has ballooned in recent weeks from 2400 pages to more than 8200 pages.

More Arrests As Bikie Gang Crackdown Continues

Senior Police are pleading with the relatives of members and associates of the Finks and Nomads bikie gangs in the Hunter to help them end the long-running turf war.

It follows the arrest of 13 bikie gang members during dawn raids on 31 homes across the region yesterday where weapons, drugs and a python were seized.

The men aged from 19 to 55 have been granted strict conditional bail to face court in coming weeks.

Detective Superintendent Deb Wallace is urging the loved ones of bikie gang members to speak up before someone is seriously injured or killed.

"Mothers, fathers, cousins, grandparents or anyone else that's related to these people, because not only is the conflict now between Nomads and Finks, it's now impacting on community members (and) family members, so innocent people are now getting caught up in this.
