Police Renew Appeal For Information To Find Missing Port Stephens Man

 BY IAN CROUCH

As part of Missing Persons week, police are renewing their appeal for information into the disappearance of Port Stephens man, Allan Bentley.

The 63-year-old was last seen leaving his Pindimar home at about 7.30am on Tuesday April 27 last year and never returned to keep pre-arranged appointments.

Allan may have been driving a Holden Combo with the word 'catering' written on the side.

Port Stephens-Hunter Police District Commander, Detective Acting Superintendent Gerard Lawson says despite his reclusive lifestyle, Allan's disappearance was out of character.

"Mr Bentley has no bank accounts or other assets investigators can utilise aside from his vehicle - which has never been located nor has its registrtaion been renewed," he said.

"He had very little money, had no known enemies and was well liked, with his unit left in a state which implies to investigators that he had planned to return home," A/Supt Lawson said.

Allan is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of medium build, with a beard and short brown and grey hair.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
