A man wanted by police on outstanding warrants has been arrested in Hamilton South, after being flushed out by the Police Dog Unit.
Newcastle City Police shared a post on their page on September 14, seeking information on the whereabouts of the 35-year-old man.
The post reached 23,437 members of the community and was shared 157 times.
About 6:05pm on Monday, Police tracked the man down to an address in Coady Street, Hamilton South.
As plain clothes police approached, the man allegedly ran through a number of rear yards and attempted to hide.
The Police Dog Unit and PD VEGAS flushed the man out causing him to jump a fence, only to fall into the waiting arms of a plain clothes police officer.
When searched police located suspected stolen property and knuckle dusters in his possession.
He was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with the two arrest warrants, and three fresh offences, including goods in custody reasonably suspected stolen, possess prohibited weapon and obtain property by deception (relating to a break, enter and steal that occurred at Cooks Hill on September 20.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court today on Tuesday.
