Club Lemon Tree, at Lemon Tree Passage in Port Stephens will close for deep cleaning until Thursday August 13, after a patron who had recently been in contact with someone with Covid-19, visited the venue over the weekend.

The Club was advised around 10am on Tuesday, the patron visited the venue on Sunday August 9th.

Upon learning that they were a close contact of the positive case, the patron notified the club and has undertaken a test.

In a social media post the club said, "NSW Health has advised that no further action is required at this stage from either the club or anyone who was at the club on Sunday, however out of an abundance of caution the club will close for a deep clean."

"The club has been operating under a robust CovidSAFE plan, which has gone above and beyond government requirements, including maintaining a digital register, dedicated CovidSAFE marshals to enforce social distancing, as well as the provision of hand sanitiser and regular intensive cleaning practices."

The club will provide a further update when test results becomes available.
