Fire Engulfs Waratah Home

BY IAN CROUCH

A dozen Firefighters have had to be decontaminated after being exposed to asbestos while battling a house fire at Waratah overnight.

8 fire trucks were called to the single level home in Station Street  just before 11.30pm on Sunday.

It's taken about two hours to extinguish the fire, which guttered the home and severely damaged an adjoining shed.

All occupants of the house were accounted for.

Fire investigators will comb through the rubble this morning to determine how the blaze started.
