A man is due to front court today over a shooting incident at Hamilton late last year.
Police say three men entered a unit on Gordon Avenue around 10.40pm on December 18 and confronted a male occupant.
It's alleged the 37-year-old was then shot in the face before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
Early this morning, detectives arrested 36-year-old man.
He's been charged with shoot with intent to murder and has been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today.
